Integrative paediatric dental consultation

Your child’s first paediatric dental consultation is so much more than a routine check-up — it is the beginning of a trusting and supportive relationship.

Our time together is gentle and unrushed. We carefully introduce your child to the dental environment in a way that feels safe, predictable, and empowering, always ensuring they feel heard, respected, and comfortable.

Clinically, we assess far more than just teeth. We explore your child’s oral health, jaw growth and development, and screen for early orthodontic or airway-related concerns. Because oral health is intricately connected to the rest of the body, we also look at the broader picture — including diet, oral hygiene habits, breathing patterns, myofunctional considerations, sleep quality, and feeding history.

There is always space to discuss any additional concerns that may be relevant to your child’s growth and development. Our intention is to offer thoughtful, integrative guidance tailored to your child’s unique needs — supporting not only healthy smiles, but resilient, thriving little humans.

General paediatric dental consultation

Our focus is on helping your child feel comfortable and confident in the dental environment through a calm, gentle, and age-appropriate approach. We prioritise building trust — explaining each step in simple, reassuring language, and ensuring your child feels safe, respected, and supported throughout their visit.

During the consultation, we carefully assess your child’s teeth, gums, and overall oral health. We monitor growth and development, look for early signs of decay, evaluate oral hygiene habits, and offer guidance tailored to your child’s unique stage of development. Preventative care lies at the heart of our philosophy, and together we establish healthy foundations that support strong, happy smiles for years to come.

There is always time and space to answer your questions and address any concerns you may have. Our intention is to create a collaborative and encouraging environment where both children and parents feel informed, valued, and empowered in their dental journey.

Airway consultations

This conversation is centred around your child’s airway health, breathing patterns, and facial growth and development.

Airway health plays a foundational role in overall wellbeing. The way a child breathes can influence sleep quality, behaviour, emotional regulation, growth, cognitive development, and even long-term dental and skeletal development. During our time together, we take a thoughtful and comprehensive look at the bigger picture.

I gently explore your child’s history from infancy – including feeding patterns, sucking habits, dietary habits, sleep quality, respiratory history, and any behavioural or learning concerns. We discuss any relevant medical conditions and how these may intersect with breathing and development.

Clinically, I assess the development of your child’s midface and jaws, tongue posture and function, baseline breathing pattern, the presence of tongue or lip ties, speech patterns, and whether your child predominantly breathes through their nose or mouth. These elements offer valuable insight into how the airway is developing and functioning.

My intention is not to alarm, but to inform and empower. By identifying patterns early and understanding how airway health connects to the rest of the body, we can support optimal growth, restful sleep, and long-term health — gently and proactively.

General dental consultation

This consultation is centred around your overall oral health and its connection to your broader wellbeing.

Your visit is calm, thorough, and unhurried. We begin by understanding your dental history, current concerns, and long-term goals – whether that is maintaining health, restoring function, improving aesthetics, or addressing discomfort. There is space for you to share your experiences, preferences, and any anxieties you may have.

Clinically, we assess your teeth, gums, bite, and supporting structures. We screen for early signs of decay, gum disease, tooth wear, clenching or grinding patterns, and evaluate the stability and health of existing restorations. X-rays may be required to gain more insight into your oral health. Where relevant, we may also discuss how factors such as stress, sleep quality, breathing patterns, systemic health conditions, and lifestyle habits influence your oral health.

Preventive care and education remain central to our philosophy. Together, we develop a personalised plan that supports long-term function, comfort, and aesthetics – always tailored to your individual needs, priorities, and circumstances.

Our intention is to create a collaborative and respectful space where you feel informed, supported, and empowered in your dental decisions – because oral health is not isolated, but an integral part of your overall wellness.
